This movie follows astronaut Mark (Matt Damon) who has been stranded on mars after his team believe him dead. He is left with limited resources and no way to contact earth. He must rely on his own ingenuity to survive and find away to let NASA know he is alive.
I really enjoyed this movie. Right from the get go there’s action, drama, awesome special effects and of course King Kong. Previous King Kong films have always waited to show King Kong fully until at least the middle of the film. They would hint at the idea of him by showing an arm, his shadow, the sound of his roar, etc. Not this film. No sir, we see him in all his glory pretty much from the first moment. I think this is because the special effects have advanced so much in the past few years it’s easier to create Kong and have him look real. And boy does he look real! The special effects in this film are very, very good. Not only is Kong amazingly realistic (you honestly don’t question that he is real) but so are all the other elements of this primitive island.
