Fillings and Icings
Everybody needs a good cream cheese icing in their baking repertoire. My Cream Cheese Icing is buttery, creamy and sweet. The icing holds it’s shape and is the perfect addition to any cake, cupcake or to eat with a spoon…
If you haven’t noticed, I use cream cheese icing a lot on LCB! Remember my Hummingbird Cake, Banana Cake and Vanilla Caramel Poke Cake? I absolutely adore cream cheese icing and I think a lot of you do too.
I’m back at it again with the cookie dough. Cookie Dough Buttercream to be exact.
If you’re new here, HI!, I’m Emma and I’m a cookie dough addict. Welcome.
As you may know I have featured cookie dough a number of times on Lights, Camera, BAKE!. With these Cookie Dough Stuffed Chocolate Cookies, Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars (reader favourite), Cookie Dough Slice and most recently the Cookie Dough Ice Cream Bomb to name a few.
What a week it has been! First Monday was Halloween which involved a lot of delicious goodies (have you check out my Leftover Halloween Candy Blondies yet?). Then Guy Fawkes was last night which was a fun night of fireworks and today is my Mum’s birthday so I have done a whole lot of baking for that. (Recipes coming soon!).
Since it’s been such a full on week I thought I would stick to posting a simple yet must have recipe. The famous Salted Caramel Sauce. This is a four ingredient sauce that can be whipped up in under 15 minutes and is a must have staple in any bakers kitchen!
Throw away any store bought chocolate sauces because I have the only chocolate sauce recipe you will ever need. This uses simple ingredients, uses one pot and takes no more than 10 minutes to make and tastes 1000x better than any store bought chocolate sauce!
Fun Fact: I have only bought chocolate sauce once – perhaps twice – in my lifetime! I never really put chocolate sauce on my ice cream and if I ever needed it for baking I would always just throw a few ingredients in a pan and make my own. Honestly, it has never really crossed my mind to actually buy some and after years of just throwing ingredients in a pan and hoping for the best, I decided to actually develop and recipe that I – and you! – can follow to make the best chocolate sauce you will have at home!
