Hi, welcome to Lights, Camera, BAKE! – the blog that is simple, sweet and delicious. But first, a little bit about me.
I’m Emma and I have a love, passion, need for baking. After leaving high school in 2012, my casual baking turned into a frenzy so I decided to start filming tutorials and blogging some of my recipes. As it was just a hobby in my spare time, I was very erratic with my posts and videos. As “real life” kicked in, they all but ceased in 2015. After doing a lot of research into blogging and moving past my anxious “what if’s”, I made the big decision to create a better and more professional blog to share my recipes and love for baking. So, after a few false starts into this new venture, I am now dedicated to Lights ,Camera, BAKE! for 2016 and beyond.
Another passion of mine is film making (hence the name Lights, Camera, BAKE!). One summers holiday a couple of friends and I decided to have a go at filming a short movie. We were, as were our friends and family, pleasantly surprised by the outcome. This fueled my passion, and I wrote more scripts and we filmed more short films. Since the age of 15 I have written, directed, produced, acted in, designed, filmed, edited and advertised over 15 short films. All these films were created with very limited equipment and no budget.
I nearly gave up my dreams of creating a life from film making and baking in 2015 once “real life” kicked in – as I said above. I was coming up 21 and I still didn’t have my life figured out. I would look at the future, and I can only describe it as looking very black and dark. I gave up on myself. Until one day, I decided enough was enough. I didn’t want to look into the future and see storm clouds. I wanted to look and see sunshine and rainbows (too cheesy??). I wanted to wake up Every. Single. Day, doing the things I loved with the people I loved. Because life is short. So I put a lot of plans into action. One of them being this blog LCB. Another being creating a cookbook. The photo to the left is from the recipe development process of said book but more about that later.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog and learn more about me. If you try out a recipe or find a tutorial helpful, let me know!
